What I’m Doing in Haiti The Cool Teacher is checking back in 💁🏾♀️

I’m out here in the Caribbean teaching fifth grade. It’s definitely a change of pace from teaching kindergarten in Korea and high school in Senegal and Italy. This age is definitely different, but I’m adjusting and learning along the way.

I secured a long-term substitution position at a international school here in Port-au-Prince. Although my current contract is only for a few months… I hope to be able to stay longer. Dare I say... for years, with an ‘s’. Haiti has been high on my list of places to return for a long time and I want to make the most of my time here.

So, they still got me in the classroom. I honestly love teaching, but I don’t know if this is the final stop on my joyride. Working with kids keeps me young and on my toes, but I miss my bed when I have to get up in the morning 😂 I'm figuring out my life one day at a time and I’m taking you along with me every step of the way.
